  • Are the snake and bird interactions safe for young children?

Yes. All animal interactions are hosted by experienced wildlife professionals who handle the animals at all times. Children will be taught exact handling instructions (like how to gently touch a snake or how to sit calmly near a bird). To ensure safety, we require a strictly calm environment—no sudden movements or loud noises are permitted around our animal guests.

My child loves animals and making things, but what are they actually learning at this camp?

A: Forest to Floor beautifully blends science, nature, and art to teach deep observation and independent discovery.

Through the live reptiles and bird exhibits, our campers get a hands-on lesson in biology, learning firsthand about wildlife behaviors, textures, and habitats. They will have the freedom to explore their own creativity at independent art stations, and participate in a structured, guided art project. This dual approach teaches them how to observe the natural world closely and then translate that wonder into physical art. We nurture both their inner scientist and their unique artistic voice.

Do I need to stay with my child during the camp?

Absolutely. This is a family-inclusive experience, and parents or legal guardians must accompany their children throughout the day. However, we highly encourage parents to use this time to relax, hang out, and fellowship with other parents in the community!

During the live animal exhibit, primary supervision remains your responsibility to ensure everyone's safety around the wildlife. Once we move into the art and open play blocks, the environment becomes much more laid-back. While studio staff are on hand to fully facilitate the art projects and activities, you are more than welcome to step back, mingle, and watch your child explore and create from a comfortable distance.

What is the studio’s policy on food allergies?

The Treehouse Art Studio is a strictly nut-free environment. No peanuts, tree nuts, or products containing components of nuts are allowed on-site. If your child has specific food allergies, please ensure you disclose them completely prior to camp arrival.

What food is being provided, and can we bring our own? We provide a catered lunch of pizza and salad, alongside an organic fruit snack station available all day, water, and organic juice boxes. While we coordinate closely with our catering partners, please note that the food is prepared in off-site commercial kitchens. Parents and caregivers are more than welcome to bring an outside lunch and snacks if preferred, provided everything brought to the studio is 100% nut-free.

What should my child wear or bring for the open play block?

Our open-ended play block includes water activities. Your child may bring a swimsuit or clothing that is able to get wet. Be sure to bring a complete change of dry clothes. Sunscreen, bug spray, and fresh, new towels will be available for everyone on-site, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer!
